Brooke’s Covid-19 Relief Project
Dear family and friends,
My name is Brooke and I am a junior in high school and live in New York City. Since I was little, I have been involved in the Met Council, the largest Jewish charity that serves the needy in many ways, such as food insecurity, housing, and domestic violence. The organization also does an outstanding job providing basic necessities for impoverished senior citizens. During these trying times, many seniors lack meaningful social connections and interactions. Whereas the Met Council typically provides volunteer services, the seniors have been isolated in their apartments for months, unable to see their friends and family.
I hope to make a positive impact on their daily lives by providing care packages to as many seniors as possible. Each kit will include items such as…
Jigsaw puzzle
Adult activity books such as sudoku, crossword puzzles, word searches
Adult Coloring books
Colored Pencils
Pencil sharpener
Note pad
Assorted personal care items
Assorted home cleaning items
Extra masks and extra gloves
Hand-held fan with batteries
… and a handwritten letter from myself. It would mean the world to me to bring a smile to their faces and provide these seniors with activities and small comfort items. My goal is to create 75 care packages to be sent to senior citizens in the New York City area. Thank you so much for your donation, I appreciate it more than you know.
-Brooke
